Aisha Farooqi

Aisha, a candidate for Michigan's House of Representatives, District 57, has a deep connection to her community in Sterling Heights, where she has resided for over twenty years. An immigrant who attended Detroit Public Schools, Aisha understands the challenges faced by children in lower-income areas. Holding a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy-School of Law, Aisha has championed for the marginalized as a legal aid attorney and through her private law practice.

In the past, she served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for Sterling Heights and currently works as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Wayne County. Aisha's family has instilled in her a strong sense of advocacy for fighting for individuals' rights and freedoms. She believes in amplifying marginalized voices and fighting for justice for all, inspired by her great-uncle's legacy as a freedom fighter against the British Raj.
