Marianna Anaya

Marianna, a policy advocate and queer woman of color, is running for New Mexico’s House District 18. With a background in leading legislative efforts on abortion rights, voting rights, human rights, and paid family leave, Marianna is recognized for her fearless advocacy and strategic approach. Raised in Albuquerque, she is the first in her family to attend college, studying at UT Austin and UCLA. Drawing from her personal experiences with poverty, homelessness, and navigating various systems, Marianna aims to address issues such as homelessness, affordable housing, worker benefits, and education funding in her state. With a passion for hiking and camping with her three dogs, Marianna also enjoys DIY home projects and exploring local restaurants in her district. She is eager to continue her impactful work as a legislator and make a difference in her community.
