Jonathan Melton

Jonathan is a family law attorney, community organizer, and nonprofit leader. He presently serves as an at-large member of Raleigh City Council. Jonathan is the first openly LGBTQ person elected citywide in Raleigh.

Jonathan is working to build a city that comes from a place of “yes” and prioritizes responsible, equitable growth. He wants to make Raleigh more accessible, affordable, and progressive by improving public transit and expanding transportation options, reducing car dependency and allowing diverse housing types.
