Carlos is a progressive Democrat and community organizer in Charles County, MD. He has organized multiple actions to help tenants stay in their homes during the eviction crisis, advocate for Charles County bus drivers and attendants to receive higher wages and benefits, educate community members about economic disparities in Southern Maryland, and more. He has dedicated his career to advocating and fighting for policies that will help everyone reach their full potential. That is why he is running for County Commissioner in District 3.
Carlos is running to solve the challenges his community has faced since he was a child. He plans to make healthcare more accessible by building a public hospital in Waldorf, stop renters from being evicted due to unjustifiably high rent increases by instituting a rent stabilization program, revitalize Waldorf’s green spaces and vacant buildings to create a public park, recreation and learning center, and help end systemic inequities in education, by fully funding Charles County Public Schools. His platform is full of big and bold solutions, because he knows his community has waited too long for the necessary changes to raise the standard of living for all county residents.
