Matt Strabone

Matt is a professional treasurer and attorney who is passionately committed to doing the right thing. Whether he’s fighting to pass crucial transparency and ethics reforms or volunteering his fiscal and legal expertise to charities and others in need, Matt strives each and every day to build a better community. Matt is running for La Mesa City Treasurer to protect and grow La Mesa’s funds so that La Mesa can provide important services and assistance to its residents.

The grandson of immigrants and the first in his mother’s family to graduate from college, Matt first moved to California 18 years ago to attend law school at USC. He has gone on to have a successful professional career that has included owning his own business, passing good-government laws in cities and states across the nation, and performing legal work for President Barack Obama and other elected leaders. In his spare time, Matt is an avid sports fan and enjoys traveling the world with his wife.
