Alex Ruggiers

Alex is a former public school teacher running to bring on-the-ground classroom experience to the School Board in Norman, Oklahoma. A 3rd-generation Norman resident, Alex would be the youngest and only openly LGBTQ member of the Norman School board, as well as the only member of the board with K-12 teaching experience. Alex holds an M.Ed degree in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma, where he is currently employed as a Writer and Curriculum Developer. Alex has been endorsed by Oklahoma House Representative Mereleyn Bell, The LGBTQ Victory Fund, and Teamsters Local 886.

Alex is running to put more counselors in his community's schools by cutting down on administrative bloat, restore his community's trust in the school board through transparency and accountability, and advocate for every kid and teacher in the district.
