Tyler Swanson

Tyler grew up in rural North Carolina and is a proud product of the public school system. He has served as the North Carolina NAACP's Communication and Policy Director and is also a former high school special education teacher for the Wake County Public School System.

Tyler understands the importance of ensuring educators are in every space where decisions are made about our schools. As a former classroom teacher, he knows what it takes to build meaningful relationships among students, parents, and other stakeholders.

He vows to be the champion our students, teachers, and parents deserve if elected to serve in this capacity.
