Matielyn is running for state senate because she wants to see more compassion, courage, and integrity in politics. As a wife, mother, millennial, and woman of faith, she is deeply committed to using her gifts and talents to serve her community. Her policy priorities are health care, housing, and education.
Matielyn is a native of New Orleans, and she graduated from Georgia State University with degrees in political science and social foundations of education. In 2008, Matielyn was a Field Organizer for President Obama’s campaign in North Carolina. Following the historic win, she worked in education and ministry.
Matielyn lives in Buford, Georgia and leads the research department of a global diversity, equity, and inclusion training company. She also recruits candidates to run for office, runs campaign operations, and works diligently to educate, engage, and encourage others to get involved in the political process beyond voting.
