Weldianne Scales

Weldianne is a resident of the Borough of Swissvale, a mother of two, and a lawyer with wide-ranging experience. She has represented clients in criminal and civil matters in state and federal courts, and has also served as an arbitrator for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Weldianne received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance from the University of Central Florida. As a woman of color in the legal field, and the daughter of an immigrant, she is committed to serving the people and communities that shape them. Weldianne is a dedicated public servant and thought leader in the community. She is currently a Member of Council for the Borough of Swissvale and Vice President, as well as founder and chairperson for the Borough of Swissvale Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She has also participated with the Allegheny County Bar Association Homer S. Brown Division and Pro Bono representation through the Neighborhood Legal Services, Allegheny County Pro Bono Center, and Ask A Lawyer (AAL) legal clinic. Weldianne’s hard work, integrity, and diligence have earned her numerous awards and recognition, including the Pittsburgh Courier’s Fab 40 award.
