Matt is a dedicated family man living in Novi, Michigan, and is proud to be a Girl-Dad and husband. He strongly believes in the importance of families living sustainably alongside wildlife in their community. As the co-leader of an elementary school environment club, Matt empowers young people with knowledge and compassion to make a positive impact. Matt's playful attitude and word choice are grounded in his academic achievements. He earned a degree in Zoology from Michigan State University and conducted PhD research on chimpanzee behavior at Gombe National Park, where he explored the benefits of play behavior in primates. Matt transitioned to studying zoo animal welfare, conducting research at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago and the Detroit Zoo, where he took a scientific approach to making informed decisions for animal wellbeing. While Matt has now pivoted to human health as a technical writer, his data-driven approach to decision-making remains unchanged. Matt is passionate about helping others and working as a team to promote the well-being of all.
