Tamera is a Michigan State University graduate, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with a focus on Law and Society. Additionally, she has earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Cornerstone University and has extensive experience in financial oversight, management, leadership, and community engagement.

As a dedicated servant leader, Tamera is committed to being a voice, resource, and advocate for the community. She is determined to address critical issues facing our community, such as senseless gun violence, by working with key stakeholders. Tamera believes that by working together, we can learn, educate and protect our community to prevent further loss of loved ones.

Moreover, Tamera aims to address housing insecurities and the rise in homelessness by examining the current conditions of good housing stock, affordable housing, workforce housing, and market-rate housing. She seeks to promote economic stability and community engagement throughout Lansing. Tamera believes that by investing in economic development, the city can grow, and the quality of life for its residents can improve.

Lastly, Tamera is committed to ensuring that the local government is transparent, equitable, and inclusive. She believes that everyone deserves a seat at the table and the opportunity to be heard, as well as a fair share of investment.
