Michael Feggans

Michael is a proud native of the West Kempsville area in Virginia Beach. He was raised in the Virginia Beach Public School system and graduated from Tallwood High School. At the young age of 17, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, driven by his desire to become an innovative leader. Growing up, Michael was raised by his hardworking mother, who dedicated over 30 years to teaching in public schools, and his father, who served as a firefighter at Norfolk International Airport and retired as a Captain.

Education has always been a priority for Michael, and he has pursued a diverse range of academic achievements. As an alumnus of Park University, VA Tech, Norfolk State, and UVA, he understands the value and significance of both traditional and nontraditional education. After dedicating 20 years to the Air Force, Michael embarked on multiple overseas missions, including an 8-month deployment to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan for Operation Enduring Freedom, providing support to missions in Afghanistan. It was during this time that Michael realized his strong connection to his hometown and made the decision to retire from the military and embark on a new journey as a cybersecurity entrepreneur in Virginia Beach.

With the establishment of the new 97th House District, Michael is compelled to step forward once again to serve his community and offer a fresh perspective. He is passionate about providing a voice that represents the interests and concerns of his fellow community members. Michael's unwavering commitment to his hometown and his extensive military and educational background make him a valuable candidate for public service in Virginia Beach.
