Shaun Strong

Shaun is a dynamic community activist and leader running for Toledo City Council to represent the First District. With a strong commitment to public service, Shaun has made a significant impact in his community through various initiatives. For the past three years, he has played a pivotal role in his neighborhood as the leader of the block watch group. This grassroots effort has not only enhanced community safety but also forged stronger bonds among residents.

In addition to his community work, Shaun serves philanthropically as a valued member of the Board of Directors for the BeInstrumental Foundation. This remarkable organization seeks to revive creative arts in schools and provide music education and mentorship to children in underserved communities. Shaun's dedication to empowering young individuals through the arts demonstrates his passion for fostering well-rounded education and personal growth.

As Treasurer of the Lucas County Young Dems, he contributes to energizing young people in politics and amplifying their voices. Previously, Shaun held roles as the Outreach Director of the Black Caucus for Young Democrats of America and Secretary to the Legislation Committee. Inspired by Abraham Lincoln's statement "government is of the people, by the people, and for the people" in the Gettysburg Address, Shaun embraces his role as a servant leader. He aspires to provide accessible and responsible leadership to the residents of District 1.
