2023 Endorsement
Claire brings a diverse range of experiences to her campaign for the Olathe School Board. As a former full-time English teacher, she understands the challenges and rewards of being an educator in today's classrooms. Currently, she serves as a substitute teacher, allowing her to stay connected to the needs of our students and schools. Additionally, as a parent and advocate for her child with special needs, Claire intimately understands the importance of providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
Growing up in a military family in Nebraska, Claire learned the values of service and education from her parents. Her father, a Vietnam veteran and civil engineer, instilled in her the importance of giving back to one's community. Her mother, a community advocate and longtime PTA member, demonstrated the power of parent involvement in education. Inspired by their examples, Claire pursued degrees in English and secondary education, and she was drawn to Kansas by the strength of its public schools.
For over a decade, Claire and her husband have proudly called the Olathe School District their home. They chose this community specifically for its outstanding schools, recognizing the impact that a quality education can have on a child's future. As a member of the Olathe School Board, Claire is committed to ensuring that all students have equal access to the resources and opportunities necessary to succeed. She believes that the key to unlocking a student's potential lies in having the best teachers and staff in our classrooms.
With Claire's dedication and passion for education, she aims to create an even brighter future for all Olathe students. Her goal is to foster a learning environment that not only equips students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive but also encourages them to discover their own unique paths to success. By advocating for policies that promote excellence in education, Claire is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our children and the entire Olathe community.
