Madison Irving

Madison is a dedicated high school teacher, loving husband, and proud father. Currently, he is striving to make a difference in education by running for the Three Chopt seat of the Henrico County School Board. Madison's passion for teaching was deeply rooted in his upbringing, as both his mother and father devoted their careers to education. With a combined experience of over 50 years, his parents' dedication inspired Madison to pursue a career in this field.

Although Madison initially explored a career in financial planning, he soon realized that his true calling was in education. Motivated by his desire to positively impact students' lives, he made the decision to go back to school and pursue a Master's in Education from his alma mater, Virginia Tech.

Having taught at Varina High School and Hermitage High School, Madison now finds himself at James River High School. This extensive experience as an educator has given him valuable insights into the challenges faced by both students and teachers in the classroom.

Madison believes that his on-the-ground experience, coupled with his role as a parent, uniquely positions him to contribute to the overall policy-making process for Henrico Public Schools. His top priority is to prioritize the needs of students and teachers alike. Madison firmly believes that a thriving education system requires a harmonious partnership between these two critical elements.

Recognizing the ongoing struggle to elevate the status of public education nationally, Madison aims to make a difference locally. He is committed to ensuring that Henrico Public Schools continue moving forward in a positive direction. Madison believes in empowering teachers and staff, allowing them to provide students with the best possible education. For him, the success of students is intrinsically tied to the well-being and support of their educators.
