Lara Bergman

Lara, a candidate for the Minneapolis School Board in District 6, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the table. With a background as both a Minneapolis Public School parent and alum, as well as 17 years as an early childhood educator, Lara is committed to rebuilding trust and promoting collaboration within the district. Her focus on prioritizing literacy, enhancing early childhood programming, and ensuring fiscally responsible budgets underscores her passion for improving student outcomes. Lara holds a Master’s Degree in Education and possesses certifications in Early Childhood Montessori teaching and Early Childhood Policy. Her work as a BUILD Initiative Fellow at the Minnesota Department of Human Services and her role as a racial equity facilitator showcase her commitment to creating equitable early childhood systems. Active in her community through various leadership roles, including serving on her neighborhood board and as chair of a nonprofit preschool, Lara is dedicated to fostering positive change within the education system.
