Kenny, a Colorado native, grew up in a family of Vietnamese refugees who fled the Vietnam War. Setting the stage as a trailblazer, Kenny became the first in his family to successfully complete an undergraduate degree. He graduated with a dual major in Political Science and Communication from the University of Colorado Boulder, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration at the University of Colorado Denver.

Kenny's professional journey includes notable positions such as an AmeriCorps Service Member for the "I Have a Dream" Foundation in Boulder, where he made a lasting impact on the community. Additionally, Kenny served as a community organizer for the successful Jared Polis for Governor campaign in 2018.

Presently, Kenny holds the role of Executive Assistant to Colorado's Lieutenant Governor, Dianne Primavera, utilizing his expertise to support and enhance her work. Furthermore, Kenny actively contributes to the Broomfield Arts, History, and Cultural Council as its Chair. Demonstrating his dedication to uplifting the Asian American Pacific Islander community, he also serves as Vice Chair to the Colorado Democratic Party Asian American Pacific Islander Initiative.

Outside of his professional commitments, Kenny is a beloved member of Colorado's anime and cosplay community. He effectively leverages his social media platforms to champion meaningful causes, such as fundraising for victims of the devastating Marshall Fire. In one notable effort, he partnered with Lafayette Mayor J.D. Mangat for a 24-hour fundraising stream.
