Tom Burns

Tom is a seasoned public servant with 15 years of experience in facilitating beneficial public-private partnerships for various communities. Currently, he is running as the first Latino candidate for the Worthington City Council, aiming to amplify the voices of all community members while effectively managing the ongoing changes in our region. At the core of Tom's vision lies his belief that housing is the foundation for all progress. Accordingly, he has diligently advocated for a diverse range of housing options in Worthington.
With a strong background in transportation, Tom's influence extends to the realm of multi-modal, human-scale transportation. As an active member of the Transportation Research Board, he recognizes the importance of designing transportation systems that cater to the needs of the community it serves.
Originally hailing from Middletown, Ohio, Tom made his way to Columbus to pursue his education at The Ohio State University. In 2005, he successfully completed his undergraduate degree in marketing and logistics, followed by a Juris Doctorate in 2009. Currently, he resides in the Wilson Hill neighborhood alongside his wife Robin and their two adorable French Bulldogs, Bouillon and Brûlée.
