Justin is an accomplished software engineer with a background in economics and a strong dedication to public service and equitable city planning. As a candidate for Thornton City Council – Ward 1, he aims to prioritize the needs of the diverse and underserved communities within the ward. Justin's vision includes reinvesting Ward 1 tax revenue back into the community, promoting public safety measures that address concerns without disproportionately impacting minority populations, and fostering economic opportunities for all residents, not just a select few.
Justin holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master's degree in Economics from Colorado State University. His career kicked off as an Economist for the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), where he gained valuable experience in analyzing economic trends and formulating effective strategies. Recognizing the importance of equitable city planning, Justin has served on the Adams County Planning Commission since 2019, actively contributing to decision-making processes that prioritize fairness and inclusivity. His involvement in the creation of the 2022 Advancing Adams Comprehensive Plan showcases his commitment to shaping a thriving and balanced community.
In addition to his professional engagements, Justin has demonstrated his advocacy for community empowerment through his involvement in various leadership roles. He served as Treasurer and Vice Chair of the Adams County Democrats from 2019 to 2023, contributing to the party's efforts to enhance political representation for historically marginalized groups. Justin's dedication to advancing the rights and opportunities of Latino residents is further evident in his active engagement with the Adams County Democratic Latino Initiative, where he played a key role in supporting and electing Colorado Latinos.
Since 2016, Justin has proudly called Thornton home, where he resides with his wife and two daughters.
