Dulce Vasquez

Dulce is an educator, community leader, and formerly undocumented Mexican-American LGBTQ immigrant who is vying for the opportunity to represent California State Assembly, District 57. If elected, she will make history as the first openly bisexual woman in the California Legislature and the first Latina to represent a significant portion of the district.

Currently, Dulce is focused on her work in higher education, where she is dedicated to ensuring that Black and Latino students have greater access to opportunities. In addition, she actively participates in her neighborhood council and serves on multiple nonprofit boards, advocating for issues close to her heart such as mental health.

Dulce's decision to run for office stems from her commitment to address the challenges faced by one of the most impoverished districts in the entire state. She seeks to tackle issues related to housing, aiming to increase the supply and ensure better accessibility to public transportation, healthcare, and education. With a vision of a more livable and equitable California, she brings a fresh perspective and pledges to implement progressive policies that are both transformative and practical.

With her passion, expertise, and determination, Dulce aims to be a voice for her community and lead the way towards a California that works for all of its residents.
