Sophia Ginis

Sophia is a dedicated advocate for a welcoming, sustainable, and secure Golden Valley. With a vision for the future, Sophia aims to make decisions today that will benefit the city for years to come. Her priorities include resilient and sustainable infrastructure, an affordable property tax rate, and a healthy mix of housing and commercial opportunities. Maintaining safe and well-maintained parks and trails is also high on her list.

With almost 20 years of experience in community affairs, Sophia is a seasoned public sector leader. She has successfully overseen some of the most challenging infrastructure projects in Minnesota and currently serves as the Director of Community Affairs at Metro Transit. Through her career, Sophia has consistently worked to improve public processes and amplify the community's voice in government decision-making.

Sophia values collaboration and believes in the power of partnerships. She has a track record of working alongside government organizations, businesses, and non-profits to enhance the public good. Her commitment to engaging various stakeholders ensures that diverse perspectives are considered when shaping policies and initiatives.

Sophia was initially appointed to the Golden Valley City Council and intends to continue serving the community in this role. She is passionate about providing housing choices that cater to residents at different stages of life. By offering a range of housing options, Sophia believes that Golden Valley can remain an attractive place to live for all its residents.
