Katherine Cabral

Kati is a lifelong resident of Chelsea, MA, and a dedicated educator. She is a graduate of Chelsea Public Schools (CPS) and currently serves as Vice-Chair on the Chelsea School Committee. Kati is passionate about representing Chelsea At-Large on the committee and is seeking re-election on November 7th.

Kati's involvement with the School Committee began during her senior year of high school when she was chosen by her principal to serve as the Student Representative. This experience ignited her desire to give back to the community that had invested in her. After college, Kati returned to Chelsea and taught 7th and 8th grade Science. She later took on the role of Recruitment and Retention Manager.

Due to her dedication and leadership, Kati was called upon by her community to represent District 5 on the School Committee. She is committed to ensuring that the district meets its goal of knowing every student by name, strength, and story. Kati firmly believes that by working together, we can equip students who are most impacted by systems and structures with the skills they need to become lifelong learners, active citizens, and change-makers within the decision-making process.
