With a strong passion for expanding opportunities, Ryan became involved in this cause during his time as a first-generation, low-income student at Pasadena City College (PCC), where he graduated as the valedictorian. Armed with a BA from Yale College, an MSc in Higher Education from the University of Oxford, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, Ryan has worked tirelessly to advance accessible and affordable higher education.

Having gained experience in various domains, including politics, national campaigns, and policy and advocacy organizations, Ryan has always remained focused on his local community and PCC. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to advancing the college and supporting its students. Additionally, he contributes his expertise as a board member of PCC’s Asian American & Pacific Islander Advisory Committee.

Notably, Ryan's impactful contributions extend beyond mentoring and advocacy. As the Deputy Campaign Manager of PCC's successful bond campaign, he played an instrumental role in securing $565 million in funding for the college. His goal is to ensure that students can access the same opportunities he had, allowing them to build brighter futures for themselves and their loved ones.
