Ayesha M. Wilson

Ayesha is an experienced social worker and Senior Teacher-Counselor at the Cambridge Housing Authority's Work Force program in Cambridge. With a strong background in public service and a deep connection to the community, Ayesha is currently running for City Council.

A product of Cambridge Public Schools and Cambridge Public Housing, Ayesha understands the challenges faced by residents firsthand. Currently, she provides live-in support for disabled adults to make ends meet. After graduating from high school, Ayesha dedicated her life to serving the youth of Cambridge, which ultimately led her to become a social worker and later join the School Committee.

Ayesha's motivation to run for City Council stems from her personal experience of the difficulty in affording to stay in Cambridge. Her vision is to create a city where everyone can afford safe and stable housing, empowering them to contribute to the community in meaningful ways - just as she has.

Affordability is Ayesha's top priority. She strongly believes that by strengthening public housing, Cambridge can provide viable housing options for a broader range of residents who may not be able to afford market rents. She is also open to exploring other policy tools to achieve the goal of making the city more affordable and ensuring that longtime residents can remain in their homes.

In addition to her work in social services, Ayesha actively participates in various community organizations. She is a dedicated member of the Greater Boston Association of Black Social Workers, serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA Cambridge, and holds the role of Secretary for the Cambridge Branch NAACP.

Through her deep commitment to the community and her comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by Cambridge residents, Ayesha M. Wilson is well-prepared to advocate for affordable housing and lead positive change as a member of the City Council.
