Destiny was born and raised in a small town on the Northern Neck of Virginia. Growing up in a community where people in leadership didn't resemble her, she understood the feeling of being overlooked or forgotten. This experience fueled her desire to fight for change and ignited her passion for service.
Throughout her career, Destiny has pursued various avenues to make a difference in the lives of others. As an educator, she has dedicated herself to teaching students in underserved communities. She is also an active volunteer at her local church, demonstrating her commitment to supporting her community.
Destiny's professional background includes serving as the Communications Director of the Virginia AFL-CIO. In this role, she tirelessly advocated for hardworking Virginians, ensuring their voices were heard and their rights protected. With a focus on equal, equitable, and safe worker rights and protections, she relentlessly fought for the well-being of over 330,000 union members and their families across the Commonwealth.
Destiny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Richmond. She continued her education at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, where she earned a Master of Arts in International Affairs.
In addition to her career and community involvement, Destiny and her husband Chris manage three family-owned small businesses. Together, they reside in Henrico, VA, embracing the challenges and joys of entrepreneurship.
