James Lewis

Jimmy is a resident of Alexandria, currently living on the West End. With a diverse background and an active civic involvement, he brings a wealth of experience to his roles in the community. As the chairperson of the Alexandria Traffic and Parking Board, Jimmy oversees a wide range of transportation and transit matters within the city, including traffic management and parking regulations. In addition, he serves as the Vice President of the West End Business Association (WEBA) and holds various positions within the civic association.

With a passion for politics, Jimmy has been a lifelong Democratic activist. He has held several prominent positions within the party, including Deputy Vice Chair for West End Precinct Operations of the Alexandria Democratic Committee (ADC), Lyles Crouch Precinct Captain (ADC), and Vice Chair of Communications for the LGBT+ Democrats of Virginia. His dedication to public service extends to the national level as well, as he has served as the Issue Advocacy Director for the Young Democrats of America and as President of the Virginia Young Democrats.

In his professional career, Jimmy provides policy support and expertise to pharmaceutical professionals specializing in the care of older adults and individuals in long-term care settings. Working from his office in North Old Town, he offers guidance and assistance to both U.S. and international pharmacists. Prior to this role, Jimmy served as a senior Congressional staffer, bringing his expertise and insights to the offices of two members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Jimmy's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in biology and international relations from The College of William & Mary, as well as a Master's degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. With his immense experience and commitment to community, Jimmy Lewis continues to make a significant impact in Alexandria and beyond.
