Meredith is currently serving her first term as the Kalamazoo County Clerk/Register of Deeds, where she oversees the safekeeping of various public records and acts as the Chief Election Official for the County. With a background deeply rooted in values of hard work and community care from her upbringing in Eastern Iowa, Meredith is a dedicated public servant. She holds a degree in Political Science, Communication Studies, and Sustainability from the University of Iowa.

Actively involved in her community, Meredith has served on various boards and commissions, including the City of Portage’s Planning Commission and the Kalamazoo County Environmental Health Advisory Council. She is also a member of the League of Women Voters and has represented the City of Portage on the Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners.

A member of both the Michigan Association of County Clerks (MACC) and the Michigan Association of Registers of Deeds (MARD), Meredith was appointed by Governor Whitmer to the Michigan Electronic Recording Commission in 2021. She resides in Portage with her husband, John Taylor, and two children.
