Izzy Smith-Wade-El

Representative Smith-Wade-El is currently serving in the Pennsylvania State House for HD-49, encompassing Lancaster City, Lancaster Township, and Millersville Borough. After completing his education at Carnegie Mellon University, Izzy returned to his hometown of Lancaster and dedicated himself to working in the nonprofit sector, focusing on supporting vulnerable individuals in need of assistance. He later assumed the role of program specialist at LanCoMyHome, where he effectively coordinated services and provided support to Lancaster County's housing-insecure community. Izzy's outstanding contributions and dedication to public service led to his election to Lancaster City Council in 2017. He subsequently secured reelection in 2021 and served as Council President until successfully being elected to the State House in 2022.

Through his tenure as an elected official, Izzy has achieved significant milestones that greatly benefit his constituents. Notably, he has played a crucial role in securing substantial investments in affordable housing and lead removal, making Lancaster City a better place for its residents. Additionally, Izzy has been instrumental in spearheading the efforts to decriminalize cannabis and introducing legislation to seal no-fault eviction records, facilitating improved access to affordable housing for numerous Pennsylvanians.

An unwavering organizer, Izzy has dedicated his time to supporting candidates at all levels, ranging from school board to Congressional campaigns. He has actively stood in solidarity with Kellogg's workers during strikes and joined Pennsylvania educators in advocating for fair funding for public schools. Izzy has never hesitated to raise his voice to ensure the protection of abortion access, stand up for Black Lives, support immigrants and refugees, and condemn antisemitism.

As Izzy seeks reelection to represent Pennsylvania's 49th House District in Harrisburg, his primary goal is to be a steadfast ally for Lancaster's working families. With an unwavering commitment to promoting the well-being of all constituents, Izzy Smith-Wade-El continues to be a dynamic force driving positive change in the community.
