Stephanie Gharakhanian

Stephanie, a first-generation American, attorney, and community organizer, envisions Austin Community College as a leader in addressing economic inequality and affordability challenges in Central Texas. Seeking re-election for a second term on ACC’s Board of Trustees, Stephanie aims to advocate for working families.

During her initial term, Stephanie spearheaded initiatives to enhance ACC’s affordability, enhance support services for students, and improve compensation packages for employees. She championed programs such as ACC’s Free Tuition Pilot and Affordability Scholarship, expanded access to essential services like child care, health care, and housing for students, raised the minimum wage at ACC, and implemented a 12-week paid parental leave policy for employees. Stephanie’s dedication to fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment at ACC underscores her commitment to the community.
