Evan A. Shields

Evan is a devoted educator, small business owner, and passionate community advocate seeking election to North Miami City Council District 1. His dedication lies in fostering public safety, promoting thoughtful growth, and championing transparent leadership throughout the city.

With a background in teaching 9th-grade Algebra in underserved schools through Teach For America, Evan's passion for public service was sparked. He continued to engage in community organizing outside of the classroom to empower both his students and their families. Alongside his wife Adolphia, Evan has established strong ties in North Miami as homeowners, community activists, and parents to their young daughter, Josephine.

As the founder of Indelible Capital Partners, a firm based in North Miami, Evan has made significant impacts in affordable housing, positively affecting the lives of more than 22,500 low-income families and seniors in Florida and beyond. With experience serving as chair of North Miami's Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and as a member of the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Evan has proven himself as a dedicated public servant.
