Anthony Tordillos

Anthony is an engineer, housing advocate, and neighborhood leader running for City Council. Raised in a working-class family, he understands the importance of effective government. Anthony was the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Yale University in 2014. With experience as a software engineer at YouTube, he honed skills in problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and accountability.
Currently, Anthony serves as Chair of the San José Planning Commission, representing District 3. He advocates for policies to enhance affordability, prevent displacement, and streamline housing construction. Anthony contributed significantly to strengthening San José’s 2023-2031 Housing Element to address the housing shortage urgently.
As President of the South University Neighborhood, Anthony brings communities together for various initiatives, from neighborhood clean-ups to supporting public art projects. An advocate for evidence-based leadership, he aims to leverage his diverse experiences to address pressing challenges in San José effectively.
