Napoleon Nelson, is running for State Representative serving District 154 (Cheltenham, Jenkintown, and Springfield).
He became a Committeeperson for the Cheltenham Democratic Committee in 2007, was honored as Committeeperson of the Year and serves as 2nd Vice Chair. In 2011, he was elected to the Cheltenham School Board, chairing the Finance, Personnel committees, and served as Board president. In 2017 he was elected Cheltenham’s Finance Officer. He continues to advocate for education as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Montgomery County Community College.
Napoleon grew up in Mt. Airy, graduated from Central High School (257th class), holds a Bachelor of Science from MIT and an MBA from The Wharton School.
Napoleon is a finance professional with over 16 years of business experience in investment analysis, planning, analysis, and corporate strategy. He worked for Vanguard, Driven Brands, and SEI Investments. He founded the Market Literacy Project, creating financial literacy materials for students to develop skills to be better consumers, producers, creators and business leaders.
Napoleon married his high school sweetheart, Shareese. They have two children who attend Cheltenham Public Schools. His family are members of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church and are active supporters of Cheltenham’s youth sports programs.
