Zack Zappone

Zack Zappone, a dedicated Spokane City Council member and advocate, has a passion for supporting his community. Coming from a teaching background, Zack has always been focused on providing opportunities for his students. Throughout the pandemic, he and his father volunteered to distribute over 100,000 meals to those in need, showcasing his commitment to helping others.

As the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected in Spokane in 2021, Zack has been a strong voice for inclusivity and equality. He has spearheaded initiatives to improve access to healthcare in schools, boost public transportation options, and promote affordable housing. Zack’s educational background, with degrees from Georgetown University and Princeton University, has equipped him with the knowledge and skills to drive positive change in his community.

Currently teaching at North Central High School, Zack is dedicated to creating a more equitable and safe environment for working and middle-class families. By advocating for walkable neighborhoods, affordable housing solutions, and comprehensive public safety measures, Zack is working towards a brighter future for all residents of Spokane.
