Micah McCarey

Micah is a dedicated public servant focused on uniting communities through initiatives that promote public safety, economic growth, education funding, and environmental conservation in Ohio. With a strong emphasis on supporting educators and ensuring students have access to updated resources, Micah is committed to enhancing the quality of education in the state. His advocacy for environmental safeguards, especially related to clean drinking water, stems from his background as an Eagle Scout with a passion for sustainability.

Currently serving on the Athens City Council, Micah leads the Safety Services Committee and has successfully championed various legislation, including infrastructure improvements and cybersecurity measures. As a proponent of inclusivity, he has worked to make essential services and infrastructure more accessible to all residents, including advocating for racial discrimination protections and reproductive rights.

Looking ahead, Micah is eager to bring his experience and dedication to the role of representing the 95th District in the Ohio State House. With a focus on community collaboration, safety, economic prosperity, education, and environmental well-being, he aims to be a strong voice for the people of Ohio at the state level.
