During his first term, he played a key role in passing legislation such as Medicaid Expansion and bills addressing voting rights, minimum wage, childcare assistance, housing affordability, abortion access, gun safety, and education funding. Allen's passion for social justice stems from his admiration of figures like Thurgood Marshall and Shirley Chisholm, who inspired him to work towards an equal and equitable society with ample opportunities for all.
