Dylan Rice

New York Assembly, District 8, NY

2020 Endorsement

Dylan is a 23-year-old student activist running for New York State Assembly, District 8 on Long Island, which includes his hometown of Smithtown. He co-founded his college's College Democrats chapter and served as a Community College Representative in the SUNY Student Assembly. He has also been active within his community through political and local advocacy groups, and wants to bring a much-needed change in representation to it.

His main goals are to protect working families in the wake of COVID-19, pass the New York Health Act to provide universal healthcare to New Yorkers, make public higher education tuition-free, and to increase environmental protection and green energy development within New York. Addressing discrimination and injustice in all forms is another main priority as his home and community of Long Island is a product of institutionalized racism through redlining and other forms of de facto segregation. Dylan wants to make New York work for all New Yorkers.
