Night Jean Muhingabo

Night, a candidate for Providence School Board in Region 4, brings a strong dedication to promoting educational equity and student achievement. Originally from Rwanda, Night overcame challenges as a refugee before resettling in the U.S., which gives him valuable insight into the barriers students in the community face. Serving as Chair of the Refugee Dream Center’s board and the Providence School Board's Health and Wellness Committee, Night has been a vocal advocate for multilingual education and student well-being.

With a goal to introduce dual language programs in all district schools, Night's fluency in five languages underscores the advantages of multilingual instruction, such as improving reading skills and fostering cultural understanding. He envisions a school system where every student, regardless of their linguistic background, receives a comprehensive education. Through his campaign, Night emphasizes the importance of multilingual education in enhancing student performance and involvement. With his background as a refugee and experience in educational activism, Night is committed to establishing a supportive educational environment where all students have the tools to excel.
