Kris Meyer

Kris is a candidate for the Kansas State Board of Education, aiming to ensure equitable, high-quality education for all Kansas children. With 16 years of experience in Kansas public schools, she is well-versed in the system's challenges and opportunities. Kris is dedicated to advocating for full funding of public schools, particularly Special Education, At-risk, and Social-Emotional Programming. As a recipient of the Kansas Horizon Award for outstanding first-year teachers, she is passionate about empowering and retaining exceptional educators in Kansas schools.

Having attended Kansas public schools herself and now raising her daughters in the same system with her husband, a USMC veteran, Kris's commitment to public education is personal. She believes strongly in providing every child with the chance to succeed, irrespective of their circumstances. As a board member, Kris will work towards policies that prioritize students, support teachers, and fortify public schools for generations to come.
