2024 Endorsement

Alfred is a licensed architect with a background in affordable housing projects in Berkeley and neighboring areas. With a focus on ensuring housing standards are met, Alfred strives to create safe, habitable, accessible, and energy-efficient living spaces for all. Serving on Berkeley’s Planning Commission, they advocate for protecting existing apartments while promoting the development of new homes to achieve a balanced jobs-housing environment.

During their time as a student at Cal in the early 2000s, Alfred resided in the Berkeley Student Cooperative and managed maintenance for one of the houses. They later delved into housing and transportation advocacy, co-founding organizations such as the California Democratic Renters Council and East Bay for Everyone to champion tenant rights and housing initiatives.

Alongside their architectural career, Alfred operates an illustration and design business. A Berkeley tenant since 2002, they have resided in various types of housing. Drawing inspiration from being a first-generation American, Alfred strongly believes in Berkeley’s future potential and the leading role California can play in shaping the nation's trajectory.
