Montana Hartman

Cumberland County Prothonotary, PA

2025 Endorsement

Montana has a strong background in politics, starting his journey as Judge of Elections at 16, a role he still holds. In 2021, he was elected as the Judge of Elections. As that term ends, Montana is continuing his history of community service by running Prothonotary -- a role that is unique to Pennsylvania and is the head record keeper and the Chief Clerk in the county Courts of Common Pleas.

As Prothonotary he will do crucial work certifying and safeguarding important legal records such as name changes, divorces, citizen naturalization documentation, and custody agreements -- work that directly impacts residents of Cumberland County. Montana's platform focuses on creating accessibility for everyone and especially supporting marginalized communities, including the LGBT+ population and immigrants who often have particular challenges in divorce or custody battles. He is dedicated to promoting fairness and inclusivity in legal processes as a record-keeper in one of Pennsylvania's fastest-growing counties.
