Katherine Cabral

Kati is a lifelong resident of Chelsea, MA, a Black Latina, an educator, and an alumna of Chelsea Public Schools and Bates College. She currently serves as Vice-Chair on the Chelsea School Committee and is running for re-election this November to represent Chelsea At-Large on the committee. Kati's journey on the School Committee began as a high school senior when she was nominated to serve as the Student Representative. This experience fueled her determination to give back to the community that supported her. She has taught Science to 7th and 8th graders in Chelsea and worked as a Recruitment and Retention Manager. Kati was called to leadership by her community to ensure the District's vision of knowing every student by name, strength, and story is realized. She is passionate about equipping students with the skills to become lifelong learners, active citizens, and change-makers.
