Lauren Johnson-Norris is a small-business owner, attorney, city commissioner, mother, and long-time resident in Irvine. As both a volunteer and Community Services Commissioner, Lauren has devoted her life to creating positive change in her community.

Lauren grew up in Southern California and worked her way through college, attending Pitzer College in Claremont, and later earning her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. While in school, she was an intern with the Legal Aid Society, led a public interest student group, and volunteered as a tutor for at-risk youth.

After graduation, Lauren moved to Orange County and served as a Deputy Public Defender. In 2009, she opened up her own law practice in Irvine, with a focus on children, youth, and families. Lauren has held leadership positions on the board of a local YMCA and as President of the South Orange County Bar Association.

Lauren currently serves her community as an Irvine Community Services Commissioner, advising the City Council and other stakeholders regarding challenging issues within the city. She has advocated for addressing the city’s transportation needs, affordable housing, increased childcare services, and land conservation. She is co-chair of the Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee. Lauren Johnson-Norris is married to Craig Norris, an entrepreneur and US Coast Guard veteran. They have twin girls, Riley and Chloe.
