Valerie N. Hefner

Valerie Hefner is a Sherman native, a daughter of immigrants, and an incredible example of the American Dream in action. Her concern over the futures of her two children who both suffer from pre-existing medical conditions, as well as the future of her husband, a disabled veteran, motivated her to run for office to represent the concerns of other working middle-class citizens.

Hefner’s children attend Sherman public schools, and she plans to refocus the legislature’s attention away from scapegoating vulnerable children, and onto funding classroom teachers.
