José Magaña

José Magaña is a candidate for the San Jose Unified School District, Trustee Area 2. José moved to San José to teach Kindergarten and taught for 4 years. José has coached over 500 teachers and trained districts across the country on incorporating technology to teach math and literacy. Currently, he serves as commissioner on the Library and Education Commission, where he championed the removal of late fees for children. José will use his experience as an educator to advocate for all students by increasing public/private partnerships, providing more opportunities to English language learners, and exploring housing for district staff.
