Arlis advocates for communities, parks and public health, and environment. An MIT graduate, Arlis works professionally to fight climate change and works locally to protect access to parks and nature. She is a Parks and Recreation Commissioner and founded a non-profit to promote environmental stewardship through education and community action.

Arlis is running for City Council in her hometown. For Arlis, public service is a family tradition. Her parents are school teachers, her grandfather was a police officer and sheriff, her grandmother was a school principal, and her brother is a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice.
