Melvin Douglas Craig III

Melvin Douglas Craig III was born in Merrillville and raised in Crown Point, graduating from Crown Point High School in 2017 at age 17. Before his high school graduation, he was a member of Crown Point High School’s Internship program, had organized field trips for his peers, and clocked over 260 community service hours. After graduation and during his gap-year, he started work as a federal contract court reporter for the Social Security Administration’s Office of Hearing Operations in Chicago. He is currently attending school online for Paralegal studies and has hopes to attend law school after obtaining his bachelor’s degree.

Melvin is dedicated to helping small business, keeping the Square profitable, and modernizing the city’s infrastructure.
