Shanice Clarke

Shanice is a community organizer proud Portlander and educator at Portland State University who oversees a resource center for Black students. Shanice engages with PPS students, families, and employees through continuous programming and partnerships hosted on PSU’s campus, and shapes educational policy for student retention.

With her teachers union, Shanice organizes with educators in the area for increased educational funding, and fair collective bargaining procedures. As an educator, an advocate, and a progressive community organizer who proudly calls Portland home–she cares deeply about our students, families, education professionals, and their unmet needs. That’s why Shanice is running for Portland Public School Board, Position 2. Staff retention initiatives, wraparound services, and restorative discipline practices are solutions she can bring to the leadership of Portland Public Schools.
